CFROG is advocating for strong climate action and Environmental Justice
to be a part of land use planning in Ventura County through 2040 -
We need your voice.
The General Plan is the "land use constitution" for the unincorporated areas of Ventura County - all land use decisions are governed by this document that will be in place until 2040 - now is the time for Ventura County to be a leader and take strong steps to ensure public health, equitable economic vitality and environmental protection are the pillars of land use decisions in the decades to come. Now is the time.
This current phase of the update is when the Supervisors will direct staff about what direction they want to take in terms of growth and land use in coming decades. CFROG is advocating for strong and enforceable protections for public health and safety when it comes to the review of oil and gas projects in the county.
The Ventura County Board of Supervisors & Planning Commission is meeting for a "joint work session" to provide planning staff with guidance on the following aspects of a document (part of General Plan Update) called the "Alternatives Concepts Report" Part I:
- Vision Statement and Guiding Principles
- Proposed General Plan Structural Changes
- Physical, Regulatory, and Infrastructure Constraints
- Development Capacity, and
- Growth Projections.
CFROG is preparing our comments in advance of this hearing, they will be posted online shortly. Make sure you are signed up to receive our emails by subscribing HERE to be notified.
