Petition: Protect Our Water - Halt the Nesbitt Oil Well Reactivation Project

Tell our Supervisors: Protect Our Water!

Halt the Nesbitt Oil Well Reactivation Project Now!

Petition to the Ventura County Board of Supervisors to Protect Our Groundwater

from potential contamination by oil and gas wastewater injection wells and sumps.

We the undersigned join in CFROG’s call

to the Ventura County Board of Supervisors

to protect our water!

We understand the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board is currently investigating a wastewater injection well and various sumps related to project PL15-0060. Click HERE for details on the project. We demand the Board halt this project during the investigation and until evidence can be shown that groundwater resources are protected.

We also call on the Supervisors to halt any project that comes before them in the future with injection wells and sumps that are under investigation by the water board. Work with the water board to protect our water.

It is the duty of our local elected officials to be the first line of defense in protecting our water from any potential sources of contamination.

Note - Sign Today and Share! The petition will be presented again - on Nov 1 the Board continued their deliberations on the appeal to Nov. 15. Sign this petition and COME to the hearing to show your support for the appeal to protect our water and air.

  • Water is our most precious resource and we need it protected!

  • Clean water is essential to both life and health. Ventura County leaders can not wait to ensure the protection of our groundwater until after it has already been compromised by leakage of toxic wastewater from injection wells and sumps, especially those under investigation by the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board! Protect our community’s families NOWBEFORE irreparable damage is done to both our residents and our environment.
If we as a community want to protect our neighborhoods, families and children, we must take preventative precautions, including serious consideration of county-wide bans on fracking, acidization, and wastewater injection wells NOW, BEFORE our public water supplies become laced with hazardous chemicals … because the health and environmental damage resulting from these activities is life-threatening and often irreversible.
