Congratulations and thanks to our partner Food & Water Watch for opening an office in Ventura for Senior Central Coast Organizer Tomas Morales Rebecchi (Photo) and his staff and volunteers to work.
F&WW was formed in the fall of 2005 by 12 members of the Energy and Environment Program at the advocacy organization Public Citizen. Their goal is to help build a powerful grassroots movement that can protect our most important resources. Since then, with the support of membership, individual donors and foundations they have grown to more than 100 staff members and have offices around the country. including now in Ventura at 940 East Santa Clara St.
Also speaking at the office grand opening was F&WW California Director Adam Scow who spoke of successful county efforts to ban fracking and the fight in Ventura County for environmental justice.
CFROG Executive Director Kim Rivers also spoke about our partnership with F&WW to stop the Renaissance Petroleum project in Oxnard where new oil wells and pollution are proposed right next to a low income mobile home park. We are appealing the decision and as always ask for your support financially to carry on this work.
