It's time to hit the streets!
CFROG and Food & Water Watch have partnered in a project appeal that would add 4 new oil and gas wells, and new processing "hub" for the Cabrillo Oil Field in Oxnard at Etting Road. Ventura County approved the project - allowing more oil tanker trucks, more pipelines, more oil wells with more air emissions - within 500 feet of a community that is already heavily burdened with pollution. State laws requires assessment of impacts to disadvantaged communities -
We are waiting for the County to set our public hearing date before the Planning Commission.
No Impact Study - No Approval
We need more boots on the ground - our canvassing team has already been talking to residents and gathering signatures - we already have almost 600 - our goal is at least 1000, and we want to make a big push this coming weekend.
Come for an hour, come for the full day - meeting at 9:45 for neighborhood assignments and to team up as needed - then walking from 10am to 2pm.
